Initiated in 2012, the exchange program “Jeunes Espoirs” aims to provide exceptional high school students from underprivileged backgrounds the opportunity to gain international openness through the discovery of the United States and France’s history and culture.

The first trip took place from May 6th to May 12th, 2012, when 17 young French students visited New York City. During that week, they had the opportunity to meet with business and military leaders, and visit symbolic sites such as the New York Times headquarters, the New York Stock Exchange, West Point Academy and the Statue of Liberty.

These trips represent a significant eye-opening experience for students with excellent academic records and stimulate the creation of bonds between young French and Americans.
